Manage the daily operation of a retail store including customer
service, sales, inventory control, and equipment maintenance.
Consistently achieves all salon sales goals. Follow and enforce store
policies and procedures. Supervise staff, set goals, and train new
hires. The salon manager contributes to the success of Golden Tans by
supervising and coordinating the activities of salon employees to ensure
friendly, professional, efficient and courteous service is provided to
customers in a clean, well-maintained salon environment. Follows and
guides other employees in upholding the Golden Tans mission statement.
REQUIREMENTS
• Protect the assets of the Company.
• The Salon Manager is responsible for setting an example by being a role model and leader for all salon employees.
• Acts and makes decisions in the best interest of the company.
• Ensures and implements all policies and procedures of Golden Tans.
• Must work at least 40 hours per week with a minimum of 2 day
shifts, 2 night shifts and 1 weekend shift in addition to working any
other shifts that are not filled by full and/or part time employees.
• No vacation time may be taken during peak season. There is a black-out calendar provided by corporate.
• 1 year Retail Supervisory Experience or Equivalent Experience
• Great Customer Service Skills
• Detail Oriented
• Computer Literate
• Proven Sales Success
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Must posses written and oral communication skills necessary to
relay instructions to clients, as well as to provide employees and
management with information which relates to salon operations.
• Must greet clients in a friendly manner both in person and over
the telephone.
• Must be able to effectively communicate the positive effects of indoor tanning.
• Must be able to effectively describe the benefits of using
lotions and other products carried by Golden Tans as they relate to the
tanning process as well as skin conditioning.
• Must be able to individually instruct each client on the salon equipment and the benefits and/or difference in equipment.
• Must be able to effectively operate salon software.
• Must maintain minimum monthly sales goals for the store as well as personally.
• Must be able to effectively describe and sell all of the Golden Tans memberships.
• Must maintain the highest standard of salon cleanliness through
routine cleaning schedules and personally identified needs.
• Should assist senior management in marketing concepts and promotional ideas.
• Complete all tasks as assigned by senior management.
MANAGEMENT DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS
• Remain in contact with the salon during non-working hours via the telephone and unannounced visits.
• Be available by cell phone and/or email while not working in the salon.
• Provide effective supervision of all full and/or part time employees.
• Assist in the orientation and training of managers and assist in
the ongoing process of employee development through continued training
and mentoring.
• Participate in the evaluation process of all full and/or part time employees.
• Recruit and hire qualified employees, follow through on
accountability of employees and their performance with authority to
terminate.
• Participate in direct marketing when not working in the salon.
• Keep salon fully stocked of inventory and supplies.
• Maintain the functional operation of all salon equipment and
insure that all repairs are completed as soon as practical after
becoming aware of the problem.
• Effectively manage the operational budget including the weekly payroll.
• Participate in the planning and conducting of monthly salon
meetings. Meeting minutes are to be documented and available to
employees within one (2) days of the actual meeting.
• Attend monthly manager meetings conducted by District.
• Keep neat, complete and accurate files in the salon.
• Effectively schedule the working hours of all employees in a fair non-biased manner.
• Creates a teamwork environment.
• Ensures timely opening and closing of the salon.
